Turkish kebab is one of the world's great grilling traditions — and it's about a lot more than the döner you'll find at a late-night takeaway. At Cappadocia Cafe in Darlinghurst, our grill menu draws directly from the restaurants of Istanbul and Adana: marinated meats, charcoal heat and proper technique.
Lamb Shish — $32
Marinated cubes of lamb leg, skewered and grilled over high heat until charred on the outside and tender within. Served with saffron rice, mixed salad and Turkish bread. The lamb shish is the benchmark of any Turkish grill kitchen — ours is marinated overnight with olive oil, garlic and spices.
Adana Shish — $28
Named after the city in southern Turkey, Adana kebab is hand-minced spiced lamb moulded onto a wide flat skewer and grilled over charcoal. The texture is looser than a burger, the flavour more complex — lamb fat, paprika, chilli flakes and fresh herbs. Served with rice, salad, Turkish bread and sauces.
Chicken Shish — $28
Marinated chicken thigh on skewers — a lighter alternative to the lamb that's no less flavourful. Served with the same accompaniments: saffron rice, salad and Turkish bread.
The Mix Grill — $38 (or $85 for Two)

When Is the Grill Menu Available?
Our full grill menu is available for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and for dinner Wednesday to Saturday until 9pm. We recommend booking for dinner — especially on weekends.
